1- Elie Wiesel is comparing the soup to the taste of corpses because before they went to get their soup to eat, they watched the hanging of three bodies, two men and a child. They had to watch the light child struggle for life in the noose, watching him for half an hour up close until he died, no one wanted to see a child get hanged at an age like that. I feel that the emotions Elie is trying to communicate with us is extreme sadness and sorrow not only because of the death of the two prisoners, but because of the death of the boy. This quote to me, means that because of what he saw up close and for a half an hour, the 13 year old boy trying to cling to his life in the noose, had left a bad taste in his mouth for the soup.
The Jewish Star and the Dirty Needle There are many ways to compare the literary works, GO ASK ALICE by anonymous and NIGHT by Elie Wiesel. Both works have similar aspects to them. Both main characters have a relationship with their parents, the main characters are in the works with having a relationship with God and finally, both of the protagonists have recurring images of death and dying. Before I read this book, I thought the concentration camps is where Jews had to work until there numbers on their arm would be called out to get killed. They would killed them only by using the gas chambers which that wasn't the case at all. A lot of Jews were killed by machine guns. Babies were used as target practices for shooting.
Why do you go on troubling these poor people's wounded minds, their ailing bodies?” “(Wiesel pg 66).” Elie asks these questions as he sees more innocents peoples death thinking that surely if god is the master of the universe he should help but he doesn't and elie takes this as a sign of cowardness. More questions arrived to elies mind as people started to praise his god asking “Blessed be God's name? Why, but why would I bless Him?
Night by Elie Wiesel is a book about a boy and his family being deported to concentration camps and going through very rough experiences. Not unlike many writers, Wiesel takes his pieces and expresses them through emotions or words. These words and/or expressions help the reader feel what the character in the book is feeling. The ways Wiesel expresses the way Elie feels is through imagery, literary devices, and first person point of view. Elie Wiesel uses Imagery to express the character’s thoughts and feelings by explaining in great detail parts of a book to make the reader picture a scene or image.
The first piece of advice about how to survive, given to Wiesel, was from a young Pole, a prisoner in charge of one of the prison blocks. After Eliezer, his father, and the rest of the selected prisoners, made the short march from Birkenau to Auschwitz. Upon arrival they were forced to shower. After the showers, they were left outside cold and wet, naked and never given the clothes they were promised. Guards came and told the prisoners they had to run, “The faster you run, the sooner you can go to bed” (page 38).
“‘I wanted to return to Sighet to describe to you my death so that you might ready yourselves while there is still time. Life? I no longer care to live…but I wanted to come back to warn you. Only no one is listening to me’” (Wiesel 7).
When reading the book “night” by Elie Wiesel, you can never be sure something is to be set in stone. Even the characters drastically change from societies previous distorted visions of a Jew to the primordial beast that dwells over the basic components of survival itself. For example, a selfless and cultured man known as Eliezer’s father is forced to adapt himself into a man so full of sorrow not even his own wife would be able to recognize him. What did this? Many may say it was the loss of God.
Eliezer Wiesel and Jeanne Wakatsuki have very many things in common through rough experiences in the camps they were in. Eliezer and Jeanne have a lot in common like how they both changed personality’s throughout the story, how they showed fear in many situations, and lastly they both learned from these hard experiences. Even though Eliezer and Jeanne can relate in many ways they are actually quite different and experienced different things. For instance, Eliezer was not obstinate like Jeanne. Also, there was a point in the novel where he was completely alone while Jeanne had her family with her throughout the whole time in the camp.

I would've said to him,"If there really is a God then he would send mercy as it is necessary, but if there isn't then what is the point of wanting to die to escape this place because if you see death as a relief because you would be going to heaven, but if there is no God then there is no heaven to go to. You just have to hang on and believe that God will save you when the time is right. God is just testing our faith and we need to stay strong so that he will have the joy of going to heaven and being with him once this is all over.

His tent leader was had been explaining what they were to do this week. He says three days in quarantine after you will go to work and tomorrow medical checkup. He then asks Elie if he wants to get into a good unit.
The author believes that determination was the key to surviving in tough times. For example, Elie Wiesel is with his father at a concentration camp called Buna. Wiesel walked in on something at the wrong time. The SS officer is furious and punishes him. On page 38 the book states, “I came forward.
" Physically: Gregor literally crawls into his room, lays down on the floor, and takes his last breath. Mentally: Gregor's family alienates him and is ultimately responsible for Gregor's death through their negligence. Clearly, the bug is Gregor, but Mr. and Mrs. Samsa and Grete treat 'it' as if he was scum. " They were treating him as though he was invisible. They would literally walk past his room every day and attend their family dinners without saying anything to Gregor at all.
Elie Wiesel’s somber speech, “The Perils of Indifference”, demonstrated the harsh reality of the numerous evils harvesting in the world. The main evil though was simply indifference, or a lack of concern. As a young Jewish boy, he faced the wickedness of the Holocaust, imprisoned at Buchenwald and Auschwitz and also losing both his parents and younger sister. The speaker saw atrocious horrors and suffered for a prolonged amount of time. Why was this permitted?
