MUS120 Comparative Essay: Week Two Comparative Essay From a distance, it is easy to say that Choo Choo Ch’ Boogie by Louis Jordan and Hoochie Coochie Man by Muddy Waters are both songs that belong to the blues genre. Yet, when placed under the microscope and compared next to one another, the division between the blues and jump blues becomes very clear. A choice of differing instruments and vocal styling allow for a change of ambience between the two pieces, along with a drastic change in tempo which sets the energy and results in a noticeable variance in the mood. Choo Choo Ch’ Boogie is a high energy and up beat variation of jump blues, whilst Hoochie Coochie Man maintains a slower and solemn tone, with a true blues style acoustic range.
In comparison, on my playlist songs by Pinegrove, “Old Friends” and “Friends” by Sure Sure, both of which are upbeat alternative punk songs. The tempo of the songs on Kaylee’s playlist were overall slower than the songs included on mine, even though I did have a few slower songs on the playlist I made. The timbre of warmth and comforting flowed between some of the songs on each of our playlists. “Like the Dawn” by the Oh Hellos on Kaylee’s playlist and “Coastline” by Hollow Coves on my playlist best represent this similarity in

Undoubtedly, the style of art that was being created by Native American artists was impacted by European domination. In this assignment, two Native American pieces will be analyzed in order to compare and contrast them. It captivates and motivates. As I attended a concert on Saturday, November 7, 2015, Lynyrd Skynyrd performed with power and feeling to their audience.
The missionaries were Protestants that brought Christian religion. They came from Boston and sailed to Hawai’i on the Thaddeus to teach Hawaiians to read the Bible and learn Christian religion. In order for this to happen, they had to teach the Hawaiians how to read. So, they invented a written Hawaiian language, started a school system, and provided a printed press. The missionary’s impact on Hawai’i was a more negative impact because they were a cause in deaths in Hawaiians and they changed the way Hawaiians lived unfavorably.

The Better Polynesian Island The first place most American vacationers think of when wanting to travel is to go to Hawaii rather than Samoa.
