Hawaii and Yellowstone can be compared and contrasted in many ways. Yellowstone and Hawaii are great places to have a vacation with your family. What people don't know is that there are standing on super volcanos that could erupt at anytime. Giant chambers of molten lava just 8 kilometers below your feet. One time your enjoying the nature, next nature takes its toll and magma rushing up from the ground. Killing everyone in its way. The location of these two places can be examined. First of all, both of these places are not located near any fault lines. Both are located in the middle of a plate. Hawaii is located in the middle of the Pacific plate. Yellowstone is located in the middle of the North American Plate. In addition, both places have different types of crust. Hawaii has oceanic crust; Yellowstone has continental crust. This means that oceanic crust is lower in the ground. Continental crust is higher then oceanic crust. The tourism between Yellowstone and Hawaii are vary different between the two of them. Have you ever wondered why Hawaii is all islands? Before the Hawaiian islands the pacific plate moved over the hotspot. The hotspot caused the Hawaiian islands. The islands move move northwest of the hotspot causes the volcanos become inactive. The hotspot causes active volcanos, but as they move away they become less active. Second, Yellowstone doesn't have any volcanos above ground like Hawaii. The super volcano is under all the attractions. Yellowstone does get earthquakes frequently. When a earthquake hits that's high on Richter scale people fear that the super volcano could erupt, but the chances of it erupting are very low.
