The Canterbury Tales depicts the differing levels of society of the Medieval period. The tales with the most notable differences are “The Pardoner’s Tale” and “The Reeve’s Tale.” The former story is about three men consumed by greed, which ultimately leads them to their h. The latter tale is about two clerks who seek revenge on a miller who steals grain from their school. “The Pardoner’s Tale” and “The Reeve’s Tale” drastically differ in their moral themes that depict revenge, sin, and greed. “The Pardoner’s Tale” illustrates the effects of revenge, sin, and greed.
Chaucer wrote the book: The Canterbury Tales, in which a group of men going on a journey all tell a tale. Within each tale is a moral lesson as well as each tale consists of a corrupt action committed within the church and is conveyed by those kind of characters within the story. One of the tales that Chaucer tells in his book is called: The pardoner 's tale. Within this tale the pardoner (who is telling the tale) is a preacher who often gives sermons but admits that he does is solely for money and not to condemn people of their sins. (Greed)

Quixote tells his squire, Sancho, about his plans to escape, find an island to govern, and to follow other knightly duties. Quixote dresses like a knight, dreams of a mistress, talks as though he’s in the medieval times, etcetera. Quixote, now being a “knight”, creates a quest to follow.
Geoffrey Chaucer has greatly influenced English literature with many of his works. He comprised more than twenty tales in his most famous collections The Canterbury Tales. There are several of his many tales that expresses love, marriage, and romanticism to display an important message. The Merchants Tale in particular refers marriage and love between the characters. First, the story introduces the narrator Chaucer, whom tells the story of a knight.
“A Knight’s Tale” In a Knight’s Tale the story is set in the Medieval England. It’s a life story of a peasant as he seeks to change his social status through participation in the medieval tournament games. Throughout the movie, William starts out as a peasant but he tries to show anyone is capable of being a knight without being of noble birth. The social statuses are very different there than they are today and because of that he tries to change his status.

Throughout The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer illustrates to the reader the true characteristics of the Miller and the Reeve by using the aspect of morality to show their related views on love and women. Love, to both the Miller and the Reeve, is frequently associated with beauty, lust, and sexual intercourse. Their vision of love is consistent in both stories; indicating that they care mostly about the women’s physical appearances. This can be easily seen in the stories by the way that the women are described and portrayed. Neither of Chaucer’s story tellers offer much insight into the women’s intelligence or mental characteristics.
To be a knight, at around age 7 one would serve as a page to a noble. A page would run errands, bring messages, and were taught by the women of the manor. At around age 14, pages would become squires. Squire’s would follow their noble almost everywhere he went, whether he was hunting, fishing or observing land. Squire’s would even follow their noble to battle.
The Canterbury Tales is a collection of stories that are verbally created as the Host requests that each pilgrim tell a story on the journey to Canterbury. Although this ultimately leads to conflict amongst the pilgrims, the entire spectrum of human personalities is presented by showing each character's qualities, flaws, and hypocrisy. In order to show multiple layers of perspectives, including that of the pilgrims, Chaucer as the narrator, and Chaucer as the writer, The Canterbury Tales is written as a frame narrative. The use of a frame narrative allows Chaucer to convey his own values in humanity by observing and reflecting on the strengths and weaknesses of human nature.
Therefore, “The Knight of the Sword”, Gawain doesn’t share this same notion of mercy towards the daughter of his host, who had since become his wife. When Gawain and the young girl are taking leave of the castle, they are attacked on the road by another man. The young girl is taken from Gawain, who challenges the man in order to get her back. The challenge consists of testing the loyalty to Gawain of first the girl and then her greyhounds. Both are allowed to choose who they wish to stay with.

The group of thirty people include people from all walks of life such as a cook, sergeant at law, friar, etc. who in turn create a society. Each person defies their expectation and does not necessarily act like they are supposed to. The tales of the knight, the monk, and the sergeant at law correlate and relate to certain positions in present day society.
