Training a Squire into a Game Knight Employee Every game store needs that person that can identify a gamer’s craft and hobby. At the same time, engaging with a gamer and making his or her shopping experience marvelous is no easy task. It takes a warrior knowledgeable in the art of the game, a servant that seeks to meet the needs of others, and skilled expert capable in meeting those needs. With the right doctrine, training, and culture, Game Knights will be able to take any squire with the right attitude and transform them into a proficient Game Advisor dedicated to the service of fellow gamers. Making a Game Knight will take the right training plan and an immersion into the principles of customer service. The indoctrination aspect of this training will focus on instilling the businesses values, vision, and mission statement into the Game Advisor or team member. Game Advisor’s must understand that what they do is meaningful and needed for the business. Doing so will produce what Culturology calls “meaning amplification” (Kramer, 2012). Meaning amplification is when a person works harder because they know what they do is meaningful to the business. Game Advisor will understand they have a great impact to the business that they are more than just cashiers. For this phase, the Game Advisor will be told Game Knight’s mission statement and will be expected to know it before they can advance to the next phase of training.
