Vietnam War vs Iraq War
The Vietnam War and Iraq War were a minimum of 28 years apart from each other. The Vietnam War of 1955 and the most recent War lasting from 2003-2011, the Iraq War had multiple differences and very few similarities when comparing the two wars. These wars occurred at two completely different times, one happening in the 20th century, while the other in the 21st century. Apart from both being wars, they both have a few things in common while they include many differences. There are many topics when comparing and contrasting these two wars. The Vietnam War happened long before the War in Iraq; although both are considered wars, they have multiple differences such as the following: why they were caused, the number of U.S casualties along with who was involved, the conditions of where they were located, and how much both Wars cost the United States. It is very unlikely for a country to declare war on another country without a specific reason. There is more than likely a cause for a country declaring war on another. Each war was started very differently. The Vietnam War started because Communism was threatening to expand all over South-Asia. The Iraq War was a war on terror (Schuman and Corning). The Iraq War first brought attention to the United States.

The cost of Vietnam was around 168 billion dollars (Rohn). In today’s currency, the $168 billion would cost around 950 billion dollars. The Iraq war cost the United States around $1 trillion. The amount of money put into wars is crazy. There were almost 2 trillion dollars put into both wars combined. That amount of money is outrageous. If you were to add up the cost of every war the U.S had been involved in, it would cost tens of trillions of dollars. Wars aren’t cheap, they are very expensive and can damage our country’s economy a lot. Both wars have put an enormous amount of debt on the United
