World War 1, World War 2, the Vietnam War and the Gulf War are all 20th Century conflicts, with different backgrounds but similar causes. The causes of these wars have not yet been officially stated, but historians have their own prediction on the causes. Between these four wars I think the main cause was nationalism. I think this is the main cause of the 20th Century conflicts we studied because they show up in a variety of the sources we used like books, websites and classes.

Nationalism was one of the main cause of the Vietnam war because The United States initially entered the Vietnam War to aid the French but it was nationalism that caused the both the Communist North and American’s to continue the war. I think the most important causes are the divide between the capitalists and communists. After the divid of ideology they both got different leaders, the south’s leader was Diem and the north’s leader was Ho Chi Minh. Ho Chi Minh was also a nationalist as well as a communist.
