There are hundreds of causes of World War One WW1). Some of these causes are alliances, nationalism, and assassination. These causes all caused major events to take place during World War One and affected the entire world as we know it to be today. Major events such as, the Battle of Flers-Courcelette which will be discussed throughout the paper. This battle was important to the First Great War as it was the first ever battle in any war to use tanks and heavy machinery of their likeness.
