A Wind of Connection There are very similar passages in two Bradbury’s stories – “Ylla” and “The Wind”. The stories seem to be absolutely different: “Ylla” is set on Mars, a part of a si-fi collection, while “The Wind” is a fantasy short story set on Earth, but they share descriptions of atmosphere. Wind is a separate entity in Bradbury’s stories. He defines it as follows: "[wind]'s a lot of people dead. The wind killed them, took their minds to give itself intelligence. It took all their voices and made them into one voice”*. The wind comes to the main character of "The Wind" - Thompson - to make him understand that it has killed Thompson’s friend, who has learned the wind’s secret entity and wanted to tell about it.
