Games have been in the making for a long time, and as time moves on games are slowly becoming better. From the invention of Basketball to today’s Undertale. Certain attributes in games help determine whether that game is good or not. These attributes are the immersion of the game, overall gameplay, and purpose.
First of all, there are many aspects that go into immersion such as music, aesthetics, and a story. Immersion can leave a lasting impression on a person, people prefer games that is pretty and has a good story. Immersion in a game also aids with the player appreciating moments meant to be special more than they would if that game was not immersive. If the controls are easy to understand or easily learnable then a player may feel encouraged to play the game more often. If the controls are frustratingly hard to understand or make no sense then the person may lose patience and drop the game altogether. Many companies will even use the “easy to play but hard to master” tactic to sell their game to audiences. Another gameplay feature that is nice to have is new uses for software.
