Before attempting to classify Messianic Judaism, one must understand the beliefs of the followers of these religions, the traditions that they uphold, and the identity of their respected ancestors. Fisher describes Judaism as, “ having no single founder and central leader group making theological decisions.” In religious terms, Jews are those who experienced their long and often difficult history as a continuous dialogue with God. In a religions sense, Israel refers to all those who answer the call of God, through the Torah or teaching given to the patriarchs, Moses, and the prophets. Christianity can simply be defined as all people who accept the belief that Jesus, a Jew, was born and died to fulfill the Jewish Old Testament prophecy.
Christianity and Islam are two very different but also very similar religions. They both share some beliefs, like a monotheistic god, hell and heaven, and prophets for said god. But they also view traders with similar and different attitudes, like how they viewed selling an item for more than it is worth. They both believed that trading was unjust due to its methods of dishonesty and bribery. Traders are the backbone of history and the way they are viewed by the 2 biggest belief systems in the world is also important.
The Middle East is a place that was the birthplace for many cultures and religions such as Christianity and Islam. As they expanded from this region, both of these religions had good impact on history. I believe that Christianity was the first to come about in the 5th or 6th century, then Islam came about in the 7th century, it is hard to tell what information is correct and what is not because much of the information is conflicting. I do believe from all the information that I read that this piece of information was correct, the Islam people believed that if you do something wrong you pay, and the Christians were more passive and believed in forgiveness. Both ancient religions believe in a higher power and both began as being specific to a certain region before later expanding in the late 19th century, with Judaism originating in Egypt and Hinduism taking its roots in India. With that being said, there are also several differences between the two religions. Hindus believe that we are reborn from a previous life until we achieve “oneness”, which is the unity of all beings with the Divine. Jews, on the other hand, believe that we are created in God’s image with the capacity to either be good or evil.

Christianity and Judaism are both monotheistic religions that share many similarities. Both religions were found in present day Israel and share a common writing. They shared the same Ten Commandments; Torah for the Jews and the Old Testaments for the Christians. Even though they are common in many different ways, they are also very different.
