Government plays an important role in society. It is an establishment to dictate the laws of a nation, and directs energy towards the organization of people groups and the well-being of lives. Because of this, there is a need for a sector of government known in businesses as public affairs. This sector provides the resources for solving many issues, and is a necessity for the operation of a government. By looking more closely at the seven goals within governmental public affairs, one might be able to see how it is beneficial. One of the first goals of public affairs within government is to inform constituents. Very similar to a marketing firm, pubic affairs carries the responsibility to let the public know what is happening within the government. They let people know what decisions are being made and allow people to be prepared for changes. These two things are very similar, however, hold their individual characteristics that make them slightly different. Both point toward the fact that public affairs advocates to the public to do something, and to interact with the government. On a more specific level, “active participation” points to voting, following regulations...that dimension. It is akin to being a good citizen.
