How Successful Was The Progressive Movement

The Progressive Movement lasted from the late 19th century through the first twenty years of the 20th century. There were economical, political, and cultural problems during this time period, and Progressives worked to improve them. The movement sought to restore economic opportunities, and to improve the lack of fairness and justice in American life.
Progressives wanted to preserve capitalism, improve working conditions, and achieve better governmental rule. [1] Creating better education during this time period was very important to the Progressives. To achieve this, they received help from experts in different fields in order to improve society and business. Some Progressives believed that America’s problems needed a moral solution rather than a legislative one. The Progressive Movement consisted of many women. Each sought to improve the rising problems of society and help those less fortunate.
Many middle class women noticed how alcohol had affected poor families, which lead to moral collapse and an increase in crime.
