The progressive reforms during the period of 1890-1915 in the areas of urban life, industrial conditions and politics were mixed successes, with some reforms working well and others not, but were overall largely successful. Industrial conditions, urban life, and politics were all big contributors in the progressive reform period. With these failures occurred in these areas too. Success wasn’t always the direction they were going. Even though most of the time problems with urban life, working conditions, and politics caused more problems than they fixed, the progressive reform was the most successful reform in the politics area due to their overriding concern for the system and the relationship they shared within themselves.
The Progressive Era took place in 1890 to 1920. The Progressive Era started as a social movement and started to grow into a political movement. They also did not believe in social Darwinism. They believed that the worlds problems that society faced "(poverty, violence, greed, racism, class warfare)" could be prevented by having safe environments to live in, having a great education, and an efficient place to work. The "Progressives" usually lived in the big cities.
Between the 1890s and World War One, reform efforts started taking place by the progressives. The progressives were not a single unified group and even had some contradicting goals. They were middle class urban dwellers and some were women. The progressives wanted to end prostitution, Americanize immigrants, antitrust legislation created, women’s suffrage, and the start of prohibition.
There was many successes and failures during the Progressive Era, however to me the most important success was the women suffrage and the biggest failure was child labor. Women suffrage was a success because it allowed women to vote. For instance, women were not listen to during this time this in fact anger the women. However, after fighting for so long woman could vote and give their opinion. Women suffrage was also a success because ever since then women have become consider to making decisions such as choosing the next president.
The Progressive Movement (1895-1915) was a reform movement not revolution. The framework of the movement addressed destruction of the major corporations, who had monopolistic power, and banks in America. It also helped the stabilization the national financial system, protecting environment, protective legislation for female and child laborers, abolishing child labor, consumer protection laws to prevent the sale of unsafe food and drugs. Furthermore, government was to more responsible to regulate economy. The progressives were successful in part because they were able to elect senators.
The Progressive Era, from 1900-1917, was a time when problems were solved, tactics were used to solve them, and foundations were laid for future reforms. During this time, steps and precautions were laid that regulated business, rights, government, and life as we know it. A major goal of this time was the exploitation of the corrupt aspects of the government. After the goals and reforms were met during this time, America became better and better in the eyes of reform groups and activists.
The Progressive Era occurred between the 1880s and the 1910s and comprised of recognizing the social and financial issues connected with the industrialization of America and hoped to make change. The Progressive Era was a time period, in the United States, of reforms that created to better the conditions that people lived in. There were many things that happened which were Populism, Social Gospel, and Progressivism. The best accomplishment of the era was the Social Gospel, led by the Protestant Clergy, because they created social reforms for working conditions, housing conditions, and civil rights were granted. The working conditions were poor with long hour days, no work breaks to take a break or eat.

During the progressive era our country faced many problems. The rise of substantial businesses caused industrial problems. Women suffrage, alcohol, child labor, and safety issues caused social problems. The necessitation of citizens in government decisions also caused political problems. If I could go back in time and be an eyewitness to an event in American History between 1877–1929, I would choose the Progressive Era in nineteenth century. During the nineteenth century, United States was facing problem like poverty, violence, racism, and the dividing of the social class. The Progressive Era brought awareness for the political, social, technology, and economic freedom movement.
