The main things to note in this story is that she was very kind and helped the needy and was determined to make a change. She was from a young poor family and yet she made such a big change for the world. Also, she married for love with the president not for wealth and even after becoming her wife, she still was determine to make an change and help the needy which is why she is known for her hard work and determination, not for being the president's wife. Accordingly in Clay Barton, the story mentions Clay’s adventures and troubles when she was working as an army nurse. The story tells us details about the wounded army soldiers and how Clay changes that and cures the chief’s brother which changes the chief’s thoughts about her from bossy to faithful and hardworking which is why she was one of the greatest nurse’s in history. This matters because this makes Clara Barton the woman everyone remembers
