Decisions are all around us. Was Little Red Riding Hood courageous or a foolish? Were Goldie Locks’ actions not as sweet and innocent as they seemed? Little Red wandered in the woods to visit her dear grandmother, while Goldie wandered to a stranger’s house and entered. Who were the true villains of these tales? These two classic fairy tales are built upon the decisions of two very different little girls, who both chance upon a house in the woods.. In her story Little Red takes the responsibility of delivering food to her grandmother who lives in the forest. This reflects compassion and a caring for others. This shows the opposite of Little Red Riding Hood’s compassion and selflessness.
When she is caught by the bears however, she shows similarity by being wise enough to scream and run for help. There are many comparisons to make about these two young girls. First comes their motivations. Little Red was doing a kind deed for a family member with permission, while Goldie Locks was out thrill-seeking without permission. Next comes their responses to the unknown. Little Red keeps on skipping along after hearing about how dangerous the woods are, and Goldie ventures into a strangers house in the woods when the owners aren’t home. These choices proves that they were both a little naive, but Goldie Locks was far worse. Goldie Locks then proceeds to damage property and steal from the strangers house, further backing up that Goldie Locks was stupider than Red. Meanwhile Red questions the motives of the wolf disguised as her grandmother, a display of thinking and cunning. Finally, they both come to the face of the danger they had brought upon themselves. They both have the wits to scream and run for help rather than collapse under panic, at least they know that
