The two-party system that America uses today is an extensive and vigorous process. In order to keep peace, there had to be a dividing factor, two sides, both with completely different opinions. While both Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton envisioned a healthy government, they had contrasting views on how the United States should be run. The disagreement that the two political men had for the country’s future carved a path that soon sparked the creation of the two-party system that America still uses to this day. Hamilton and Jefferson both wanted better for the country, war time debt was a weight on the United States economy, in order to pay them off, they would have to come up with a compromise. Hamilton had a goal of strengthening the federal government, by coming up with ways to work around the strain of debt, he boosted the United States economy by doing so. Dealing with a problem that affects the whole country, such as debt, is tricky to deal with. There are many ways to go about fixing the problem, but a consensus has to be made. If there is argument and hostility, it takes longer to resolve conflicts. Hamilton strived for a “..vigorous central government.”(Chernow). while Jefferson “..favored states’ rights.”(Chernow). Hamilton and Jefferson have to put aside their personal beliefs in order to help the country thrive. Two different points of view can pull out what the other never saw. By using tactics from both parties, Jefferson and Hailton came up with a way to resolve America's debt. In an effort, Hamilton and Jefferson put their personal lives aside and came to an agreement in order to benefit the United States.
