In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet,Romeo and Juliet were two very similar people by the way they acted to even the way their families acted. They both get treated the same way by their parents, they both were not honest, and even their families acted the same way. Both, Romeo and Juliet got treated the same way by their parents. Juliet’s dad, Lord Capulet was going to let Juliet have some say in who she married. He became very hard on her and gave her no choice but to marry Paris once he found out about Rome.
“I’ll look to like, if looking liking move” (21). The conversation was about the arranged marriage in which Juliet don’t even know whom she is going to marry. Shakespeare demonstrates Juliet’s innocence through dialogue, metaphor and imagery. Juliet’s innocence is proven through the use of dialogue that showcasing her immaturity and obedience.
Introduction: When people feel that they can freely express their frustrations, and feel that they are unpleased with an opinion from a government or kingdom. These types of people (such as Romeo) will often feel an uncontrolled urge to take matters into their own hands. And this will lead up to finding them in an act of defiance. Additionally, this is what makes our main heroine Romeo defies his family (or house) and marries Juliet without their acknowledgment. Throughout Romeo and Juliet, Juliet changes her attitude towards love and marriage because of uncertainty, happiness, and marriage being forced on her. In the beginning of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is has uncertainty about love and marriage, when she talks to Lady Capulet and say “It is an honor that I dream not of.” and how she speaks in short answers when she answers Lady Capulet. Juliet's attitude towards love and marriage when she meets Romeo and becomes happy you know she is happy because she marries him because she loves him you know because she says “I gave thee mine before thou didst request it, And yet I would it were to give again.” she is talking about her vow of love.
In the book Romeo and Juliet, we have learned that the opinions of marriage, are different among most people. Many parents have different opinions as well. Some are willing to give their son or daughter away at a really young age. Others are more sceptical about it. These parents want to keep care of their child for as long as they can.
The play spotlights certain character’s close bonds between each other. The Nurse and Juliet are like relatives, but they are not blood related. Since the Nurse’s daughter died at a young age, she treats Juliet as a daughter and has been with Juliet to breast feed her. The Nurse is like another mother to Juliet. Juliet has conversations with the Nurse which she would not discuss with her mother, Lady Capulet.
The neglection made it seem as if Romeo cared for her the most. Juliet’s state of mind was unsteady and she began to make unwise and impulsive decisions. Juliet eventually marries Romeo; the marriage is completely behind her parent’s backs. But the lying does not end here, Juliet also pretends to die. Her fake death causes hysteria among the Capulet because they are devastated.
Take thou this vial, being then in bed”(Act 4, Scene 1, Line 91-93). Juliet goes to the extreme by preferring to pretend to be dead so she does not have to marry Paris. These ‘wrong’ actions are all because Juliet sees the value in who Romeo is and that the idea of Paris is empty in the sight of love “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet.” (Act 2, Scene 2, line 43-44).
Some people can have mixed emotions when they first start out. In Romeo and Juliet’s case, they have mixed emotions because their families were enemies, Capulet against Montague, and can not fall for each other. After Romeo had seduced Juliet during the masquerade party, Juliet was in love and as he was leaving she asked the nurse who that gentleman was. When she found out that he was a montague she was devastated and said why she had to “love a loathed enemy”. Why did Romeo and Juliet’s marriage went so wrong at the end? Maybe it's that they were not meant for each other. Maybe it's that they're family hated each other. Maybe it's because they both committed suicide. Whatever reason it was we can both agree they both weren't thinking when they were by each other and never thought about what would happen if they marry or the fact that they are total strangers.
In William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, Juliet has proven to be more loyal to Romeo than her family due to the numerous instances in which she has chosen to act more for her husband than her mother and father. As the Montague and Capulet families have an ongoing feud, and Romeo and Juliet belong to opposite sides, it is inevitable that Juliet will have to choose between her family and husband at some point. Thus, when a situation such as this one occurs, her loyalty has proven to be more towards Romeo than her parents. Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, originally published in 1597. It is a tragedy of two star-crossed lovers, who fall in love with each other despite their families hate. The play is taught in many schools and it is often coupled with a movie adaption of the play. There have been many movie adaptations of Romeo and Juliet done and yet there are only a few out of the five I have watched that I would recommend. The top one that I would recommend is the 1968 version, directed by Franco Zeffirelli.

Romeo and Juliet are not in love with each other because just a day before they met, he felt heartbroken because of a girl named Rosaline who didn 't love him, he pressures Juliet to profess her love to him, and after just barely meeting, they both agree to get married.

It is so relatable till date because people fall in love now as Romeo and Juliet did, families fight, as the Montagues and Capulets did. We can relate to each character in some. Which is what makes this play so compelling and lets it live, five hundred years later. Romeo and Juliet is a tragic tale of two lovers, separated by an epic feud of their two houses (Romeo a Montague and Juliet a Capulet.)
