More interest and attention, means more sponsors. During the games, every time Katniss and Peeta share a romantic moment they are rewarded by much needed life-saving gifts from their sponsors. For example, as Katniss and Peeta share their first kiss, they receive the gift of hot broth. Katniss realizes that Haymitch, the District 12 tribute mentor, wants her to play up the romance. As Katniss obeys, they receive more gifts that assist in their survival.
Gale and Katniss are both from District 12 and originate from comparable backgrounds in their battle to survive and accommodate their families. They pay special mind to each other both in the forested areas and outside of the woods areas, and attempt to adjust each other out when the other can't accommodate his/her family. Generally, Gale and Katniss have an equivalent relationship where they are both equivalents in the forested areas, break even with suppliers for their families, and can build upon and add to every others' qualities. They crossed each other paths while hunting in the woods next to District 12.
Now, you do not need me to tell you that all this is why Panem is a Dystopian Society. Another reason why though is how President Snow reacted to all of this. He was not very happy that katniss and peeta had found a way to outsmart the capitol and the gamemakers. So he set out to basically ruin Katniss’s life because she was trying to rebel. He didn’t like that his power was being taken away so he was going to try to get it back, But because he had to power of intimidation and could pretty much kill anyone and get away with it no one could do anything.
Her emotions toward Peeta change drastically. During the beginning, she believes that Peeta being nice to her was his strategy to kill her during the games. Her emotions change after the rule change in the middle of the games. Katniss finds Peeta who works with her to win the games. Katniss had changed during her childhood as well.
President Snow said She's become a beacon of hope for the rebellion, and she has to be eliminated.” (The Hunger Games) This means that President Snow wanted to stop Katniss, so that there was no chance of her rebelling against him. President Snow and General Zaroff, both have games which innocent people get killed and are forced to be in situations that they don’t want to be in. President Snow has the Hunger Games, and General Zaroff has “The Most Dangerous Game”.
Has many Dystopian chartists for example they are told what to wear and how wear it. The connection Katniss and her sister have is extrandairy. Katniss volunteering for a death sentence, showing that she cares more about her little sister’s life than her own. Katniss breaks the rules by uniting forces with roe. Katniss has extraordinary care for peeta, she would rather kill herself then kill petea, they were going to eat poisonous berries.
SET-UP (When and Where the evidence takes place) PIECE #1 It was not until Prim’s name was drawn during the reaping that Katniss finally realized how harsh and unfair the government’s rule was over the people. During her time in the Hunger Games, she was constantly looking for ways to show the Capitol that she would not be a pawn in their hands. EVIDENCE PIECE #1 The text states, “I spread out my fingers, and the dark berries glisten in the sun.
‘In the context of the period c1550 to c1650 to what extent were religious changes most responsible for the persecution of witches in Europe?’ The ‘European witch craze’ in which widespread moral panic suggested that wicked satanic witches were operating as an organised threat to Christianity; those accused were portrayed as being worshipers of the Devil, engaged in acts of malevolent sorcery at meetings known as Witches’ Sabbaths. Those arrested, convicted and executed were statistically old, poor women. Midelfort’s ‘domino theory’ explains the escalation of persecution as the consequence of attempts “to enforce social and moral discipline (…) one of the consequences of the general movement of reform and repression”.
Thomas 1 Joshua Thomas Ashley Allee English 115 February 23,2017 Compare and Contrast Essay Both Katniss and Tessie question the reasons for the continue the tradition each year and allowing the cruel activities to continue causing deaths each year through the lottery and reaping. In their own way both Tessie and Katniss are rebellious towards the demands of the government. Even Tessie complains to the villagers while Katniss acts out, but both resent the level of intrusion into their levels. But each character resent the government intrusion into their towns life. In each story the government demands someone death as punishment or to appease their tradition.
Chapter two: The reaping begins with Prim being chosen at random. This causes Katniss to volunteer as tribute to save her sister. Next was the male drawing, which turns out to be pieta Mel lark. Peete and Katniss had one interaction before when he feed her bread when she was starving outside.
This change of thought and decision making is only natural due to the nature of the Hunger Games. A large giveaway that Katniss is making decisions that benefit her is the fact that was killing people in the arena. An example of this is when a group of “career” tributes (the tributes that have trained for the Hunger Games since they were young) and Peeta chase Katniss into a tree in an attempt to kill her. They decide rather than follow her up, they would wait it out until she had to come down. Instead of crawling down and accepting her fate Katniss notices a nest full of tracker jackers, which are genetically modified wasps with deadly poison, and decides to cut it down onto the group below her.
Katniss realizes in the story that she loves Peeta, and that she can trust him. These differences tell us “The Lottery” and stories that are interestingly
Moreover, the evidence tells us that Katniss is a selfless person who would basically give up her life for her family, even though she will be forced to go the capital, where she will be used as a pawn in the Hunger Games. Furthermore,
Katniss and Peeta’s appearance, altered by the capital, is important for their survival before, during, and after the games. In the Capitol of Panem, appearances are everything, especially the pre-games rituals, such as the chariot ride into the Capitol or the Gamemaker's scores on the tributes. Katniss and Peeta, both coming from a poor district, are not liked as the other districts are, such as Districts 1, 2, or 3, but this does not restrain their chatriot ride into the Capitol. “The crowd’s initial alarm at our appearance quickly changes to cheers and shouts of ‘District Twelve!’
This shows the readers that Katniss really about her mom and sister and she will keep them in her thoughts when she enters the games. The second quote that supports the theme is on page 22 “ With one sweep of my arm, I push her behind me. I volunteer I gasp I volunteer as tribute.” This quote helps the readers realize that Katniss is very protective of her sister Prim
