Malcolm x born in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 19, 1925. He was one of 9 siblings (3 half and 6 full siblings). While growing up he did things children did, as a toddler wasn’t too bad. Things didn’t start going downhill until Malcolm's dad was killed by a KKK member. Him and his other siblings adjusted easily but their mom didn’t. As their mom spiraled downhill and was admitted into a mental hospital, Malcolm was sent to a detention home. After visiting his half sister,Ella, the summer before he moves in with her in Boston, Massachusetts. His half-sister shows Malcolm around before he gets a job. He finds another job washing windows near a Boston-Washing train then as a sandwich porter on a Boston-New York train. These jobs fail as well. Malcolm gets an opportunity in Harlem to work as a day waiter. He quickly adjust to the New York lifestyle and earns tips. Malcolm invest in lots of money gets involved in the gambling market. Malcolm loses his job and goes down a path of prostitution selling drugs. He starts substance abuse and goes broke Malcolm later gets blacklisted after an altercation. Malcolm robs and starts buying and selling . As Malcolm's gambling career picks up he meets West Indian Archie. Him and Malcolm don't start off on good terms after accusations and gets out of town. He meets up with Shorty yet again. Malcolm's drug habits get out of control. He's later arrested for his relationship with a white woman. Malcolm serves a 10-year sentence, and meets a guy named Bimbi who teaches Malcolm about the prison set up. Malcolm reads and writes challenging his inner rage. Malcolm's brother Reginald visits him in prison tells him to give up pork and smoking cigarettes. Malcolm finds out this is the first step in becoming a
