Stereotypes will always be used against minority groups, and will continue to be a negative impact on people. Even though most stereotypes are not true. Society accepts having stereotypes to view how certain racial groups or minorities are as a person. So, childhood loneliness occur during childhood. The child could have experienced being alone;lonesome. Many people view black families or minorities of children being alone during their childhood because of certain parents not being there for their child or that the families are not capable of staying together which can lead a child into feeling alone. Which can result into kids acting rebellious; an act of violent or open resistance of being obedient. Racial limitation when someone is born into a specific race and does not have a choice with what race they are. Therefore, in the three poems “Tornado Child” by Dawes, “We real cool” by Brooks, and “The Kid” by Ai illustrates stereotypes through childhood loneliness, rebellion, and racial limitation. …show more content…

In the poem “The Kid”, childhood loneliness are greatly expressed throughout the poem. The author states, “my sister rubs the doll’s face in mud, then climbs through the truck. She ignores me as I walk around it.” (Stanza 1) This quote is stating that the boy does not get acknowledged by his sister as he walks around her. Another quote stating, “ I stand beside him waiting, but he does not look up” (Stanza 1). This quote from the texts shows that the boy just wants to get acknowledged by someone, and wants someone to notice that he is there with his presence. The boy feels that he is alone and the boy commits acts of rebellion. The boy is committing acts of rebellion because he wants his family to give him
