Comparing Poe's 'I Just Needs Company, A Distaction'

This poem is a metaphor. It is all about Lonnlessises. It is about a ghost that lives in her apartment, how it scares her, taps on her windows, plays with the lights. The gosht never does anything when people are around. She finds the Ghost isn't here to hurt her but it is lonely and wants some friends to play and have fun with. ‘We all understand what it's like’ The author states.

On idea i found was that the ghost was a metaphor for her own loneliness. Throughout the text she was comparing the ghost to her. She has told us about her ghost, what it does and why she feels the ghost can stay. When we find her Ghost is a metaphor, i felt sympathetic for the author. ‘I can understand what it's like to be haunted by loneliness’ The author stated address her loneliness.

The only characters in the story was the author and her ghost. I liked these characters. The ghost was a good lesson ad taught us lots about being lonely and what its like to be lonely and when the author compares her loneliness i loved the characters even more because you had a deeper understanding about the author and her character in the poem.

The author's purpose for this was to give us a deeper understanding of what it's like to be lonely. The poem tells us how all we want is some company and friends to distract us. The ghost keeps messing with me, in the most irritating ways’ This means the ghost/The authors loneliness is just wanting a friend even if it does do it in the most irritating way. This reminds me of an abandoned house. Even though things may be going on around it, the house is not filled with furniture or people to care for it and give it life.
