Snowball and Napoleon are drastically different leaders; their tactics can be boiled down to the beliefs each pig has, the leading styles of both, and how each pig is viewed from the public. The difference of beliefs show the different leading styles of the two pigs. Snowball, whose name shows his lightness and innocent towards the farm, leads the farm for the better of the farm; while Napoleon, whose name shows his born natural leadership and being a good leader, but going about it the wrong way, leads with an iron fist who plans to make the animals bow to him. Snowball constantly tries to make the animals educated and want the animals to stay true to what Old Major said in the first chapter of Animal Farm. Consequently, Napoleon wants to build the windmill because the animals can use the electricity to sell the corn to humans. Napoleon wants a total dictatorship where the animals are meant to bow to him and will kill any animal in his path to greatness. The beliefs of the pigs show how they deal with defeat or how they talk about the other animals. Snowball always had respect for any animal and argued with Napoleon, but Snowball would never try to spread lies about Napoleon because he is another farm animals.
