The Rebellious stage is a most feared stage in a young person’s life. Their parents fear for the children’s safety as well as the children’s well being. Oft times in this stage of life teens do quite the opposite of what their parents ask, defying them in the small (or large) ways the teens can. Normally the defiance is listening to loud; rowdy music and wearing dark cloth; but Juliet took everything far higher. Juliet took far more risks than the average teenage today would have. The bravery in drinking the potion was entangled with the foolishness of the act. Juliet’s decision to drink the potion was affected by the changes she experienced through the course of the play.
