During the quest for power and greatness, humans often change and transition into people they are not. Their changes affect themselves and others, typically ending in a bad result. In the novel Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley, the main character Victor attempts to create a human and partially succeeds. It turns out to be horrifying looking and actually quite smart with human characteristics. As a result, Victor changes and becomes lonely, mentally and physically ill. In Toy Story 3, Lotso’s power eventually fails him as he becomes strapped to a garbage truck’s grill. It is clear throughout the movie that Lotso is very selfish. After speaking with his creation, he learns that he wants there to be a female monster for him. Being scared of the consequences from not making a female creature, he begins to make one. Soon realizing the dangers of one monster and thinking about another one, Victors decides to not make another monster for the safety of society. He accepts his punishment for not creating another monster but would rather not have to worry about more monsters being created and producing terror and danger. Here, Victor is characterized as selfless, caring more about societies well-being rather than his own. On the other hand, Lotso is truly selfish, and more of monster. Lotso acted like a dictator of all of the other toys because he was accidentally abandoned a while back with Big Baby and Chuckles. Lotso put all of Andy’s toys into the younger kid’s room where they would get beat up and hurt. Also, Lotso had Buzz reset so he could turn against his friends and imprison them overnight in little bins. All of his anger is because of him being replaced. As a result, he tells other toys to hurt other toys and does not feel bad. He tries to ignore past and tells other toys that they’re not made to last.
