The term prejudice is defined as a “preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience,” while discrimination is defined as “the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.” Even though these terms are very similar, they differ considering that prejudice is an attitude regarding a group or individual, different from discrimination, which is an action taken against the group or individual. In order to be well informed about certain issues, a trustworthy source is needed in order to gain more knowledge on the subject. In addition, many papers include quite a few different scenarios where the issue has been seen. Similarly, Prejudice contains information on all the aspects of prejudice, like its historical context, the theories regarding it, and the ways to reduce it. In this paper, after comparing the two website Discrimination and Prejudice and Prejudice, the best source for a student preparing for a speech or research paper would be Discrimination and Prejudice because even though it may not have as much information as Prejudice, the information given is a lot more trustworthy. This is because the information given in Prejudice can be written by anyone regardless if they know information about the topic or not.
