The Conflict between the Man and the Boy In the novel, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, the man and the boy are doing their best to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Throughout the story, they are both in conflict with each other due to their differences in morals. The conflict between the man and the boy is over the boy’s desire to help people, which plays the role of creating moral tension.
