A Simple Plan, written by Scott Raimi in 1998, the movie is filled with suspense and full of thrill. The setting of the movie is in a Minnesota nature preserve during the winter snow. The fox shown in the beginning of the movie is a prime example of mischief. The crows symbolize death. The finding of the $4 million dollars leads to many complications with the three men. The feel of the $4 million dollars that the three men find makes them start to turn their backs on each other. The three stooges that find the money are; a dumb air-headed man, a drunk, and a normal man. These three men try to come up with a “simple plan” and try to split it between the three of them. Jacob is the one who struggles the most out of the three men. Jacob wants to use his cut of the money to fix up the farm that his dad ran out of money to do because he paid for hanks college. Jacob is described as, “dim-bulbed” (Gleiberman). Jacob wants the money for the right reasons. When Jacob is telling Hank why he needs the money he says, “I mean, hell, Hank, I’ve never even kissed a girl. You, know if me becoming rich is gonna change all that, you know I’m all for it” (ASP). Jacob is thought of by the town that he lives in as Hank’s older brother who is a waste of time and is dumb. Jacob may be dumb but he has a big heart. All Jacob wants in life is to be happy. Jacob deserves the money out of the three men. After killing his best friend Lou, he let depression and PTSD get to his head and making him want to kill himself. Jacob would want to end his life so his younger brother Hank can enjoy the rest of his. Jacob had a good heart and knew what he wanted, but just did not have the money to get what he wanted. Jacob is the second to die. Jacob is killed by his younger brother
