Why Conflicts Are Important In Zone
Conflict is one of the main subjects in the play Zone by Marcel Dube. Conflict is one of the most important topics in The Pieces because without conflict there won't be the tension that is crucial to the story. Also if you don't have the conflict you can't see the deep motivations and weaknesses in the characters, and the play won't be interesting and excited to read. For example, if there is no conflict between Ciboiulette and Passe-Partout, viewers will not be able to see Passe-Partout's deep motivations and how he wants to become the leader of the band and kidnap Tarzan. Another example is the love Tarzan and Chives have for each other because that they give up and sacrifice many things for each other. …show more content…

It's very important in the play because if there's no conflict you can't see the very big and interesting weaknesses in each character, but rather in Chives and Tarzan. These two characters have the biggest weaknesses in the story because they have a lot of love for each other and don't want anything bad to happen to each other For example “No…Not Chives”- Tarzan pg 125 and “…Have no fear Chives...have no fear...they have no right...Chives!...” - Tarzan pg 114 These two attotrons prove that Tarzan's greatest weakness is Chives . He could sacrifice everyone for Chives and make sure she's okay, even if she can betray herself. But we learn that Ciboulette is going to do the same, EX- “…I could die right now just to know for a second that you are alive.”- Chiboulette pg 177 in this quote it means that Chiboulette wants to die so that Tarzan can have more time on earth. Chives loves Tarzan very much and this quote represents that and that Tarzan and Chives biggest weakness is each other. If there is no conflict we cannot see the weaknesses in the story and the story is not going to be very good or interesting to read. The bigger reason why conflict is so important in the play is to keep the viewers
