Conformity in Reference to Abortion The first topic I would like to discuss would have to be the one on conformity and disagreement. In the beginning of our textbook (Not So Fast Page) it states that “Researchers must always keep in mind that people respond to their subjective interpretation of a situation, not the objective situation, especially when an experiment involves a potentially confusing scenario.” In chapter nine, Conformity is defined as changing one’s behavior or beliefs in response to some real (or imagined) pressure from others (p.305). They also do not consider the fetus alive until after birth, yet if you hit a pregnant lady you will go to jail. When that fetus begins to form in the uterus it is alive no matter how big or small it is. Society has brainwashed everyone to believe that when you abort a fetus/baby in the early stages of pregnancy that it is not really a baby or alive for that matter. By the United States getting involved in the issue with Syria, one might say that is a form of altruism. Altruism is the unselfish behavior that benefits others without regard to consequences of oneself. Although President Trump may not be at the top of some people’s list, when he stood up for those people by trying to get rid of what caused them great loss and devastation, he showed that he is not a heartless person. Some Americans feel as though the United States should not have gotten involved because as they said “it has nothing to do with us” but what was done to those poor people was inhuman and not called for. I feel like someone had to stand up for those people, but I do feel like maybe some other countries such as Korea
