In the introduction of this book, Michelle Alexander highlights the criminal justice system and how rather than identifying people by their race, people of color are labeled as criminals. I believe the criminal justice system, racial caste, ideology, and global examples of racial caste are all connected to racial inequality. I feel that the race and criminal justice system are connected on the basis that people of color are seen as unequal when compared to Caucasians. In the reading the author provides good examples of how officers are well trained at defending against claims of racial bias in policing.
Text Questions 7.06 By: Dani Reiser 1: There are two models of the criminal justice system which are the Crime Control model and The Due process model. 2: The system is about the allocating police officers to the particular areas so that will become familiar with the local inhabitants around them. 3: These programs will possibly include having some police officers visit the schools, and giving out the award called the good citizen which they give out to the community members. And they also are allowing citizens to ride along with the police and they are giving tours of the police headquarters.
One of the criminal thinking errors is the stance of “uniqueness”. This thinking error occurs when the person in question believes that they are different from everyone else, which leads to a sense of entitlement. Because of their supposed “uniqueness” they believe that the rules don’t apply to them, and they are entitled to have certain rights and actions that others wouldn’t have. A potential problem with this thinking errors is it can lead the person to suspect different treatment within the judicial system.
America’s criminal justice system need to make a change. We are constantly wasting millions of dollars on prison cells that won’t even be needed if they gave citizens who broke the law quick and easy punishments. In our society today many youths are being sentenced harsh punishments due to petty crimes, these harsh punishments include five or more years in prisons. Our criminal justice system is just plain corrupted and unreasonable. Judges show give fast punishments which are less severe to citizens who has broke small laws.

Next, general systems theory is connected to the multifaceted nature and assorted variety of criminal justice agencies and associations.
A comparison between the Due process model and crime control model Within the criminal justice system, there are two competing models: the crime control model and the due process model. These two models were constructed by Robert Packer and each represents a particular school of thought. In managing crime, there is the individual i.e. the suspect and there is the society. The due process model is seen to focus on the suspect whereas the crime control model focuses on the society. This paper analyzes these two models and based on the rate of crime in the society, makes recommendations as to which is the best model in criminal justice.

These four regimes are genealogically linked because they all advanced and developed from one another.
In 2000, U.S. agencies surpassed the $100-billion-a-day barrier in spending to incarcerate individuals with serious addiction problems. Rehabilitating and managing offenders who misuse alcohol has proven to be extraordinarily difficult. Despite traditional sanctions and ever-increasing terms of incarceration, addiction drives many of these offenders to continue committing crimes, resulting in a revolving door. Alcohol- and drug-involved offenders are overwhelming the criminal justice system, creating unwieldy court dockets, burdensome caseloads, and overcrowded jails and prisons. Yet, programs and sanctions have had little impact on the rate of alcohol-involved crime.
