Conservation and our Environment By: Ayanna Tuggle President Roosevelt provided us with many reasons why we need to conserve our environment. He connects conservation with many things. “Patriotism, Progress, and Morality of the American People” are some of the few topics he connects. With those things Roosevelt is trying to prove that we us our natural resources for granted and for most of our needs. Roosevelt connects conservation with patriotism by saying that as a nation we are responsible and rely on our nature to meet our needs. For, example American citizens use fossil fuels for the gas needed in their cars. When that fossil fuel is used up or goes extinct we will not be able to use our fuel based cars. As American citizens we rely on natural resources to serve our most desired needs. While we all don’t think about how how much coal is used in our everyday life it is said that coal would only last us for the next 200 years, which could be harmful to us humans. There has been a shortage of our natural resources because of how we take our resources for granted. In the early ages people had a surplus amount of resources.
