Cell phones prove dangerous to society because they create environmental hazards, disrupt classroom learning, increase cyberbullying, and cause more automobile accidents than drunk driving. The wireless industry must do more to educate consumers and its own personnel about the importance of properly recycling cell phones, and it must offer opportunities to do so. A company’s responsibility does not end by setting up a used phone take-back programs.
