I immediately began to volunteer throughout the museum. While I loved every aspect of the museum, there was something extra special about the aquarium: dim lights, exotic creatures, the sounds of splashing water, the faint smell of ocean salt. Neil M. Maher wrote Nature’s New Deal to argue the idea that the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was one of the most important New Deal programs of the Progressive Era. The author explains how the programs popularity not only changed the physical landscape of the United States, but also the political landscape. The Civilian Conservation Corps began on the Massanuteen Mountains in the George Washington National Forest in 1933. The climbing of a pine tree, by John Ripley was the beginning of changing the natural landscape across America (Pg. 3).
I am interested in becoming a TK assistant teacher at Providence Day School. I believe my pedagogical style reflects the Providence Day commitment to students, allowing students to be intellectual risk-takers within a community of supportive learners and educators. My life experiences and my enthusiasm will allow me to teach with compassion and understanding to help students achieve academic success while nurturing their social and emotional skills. I will be graduating from Queens University of Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education on May 6, 2017. I am currently completing my student teaching in first-grade at Sharon Elementary School.
Internship Being an intern in the nursing department at York College has been one of the most enjoyable and interesting activities I have done. I had the opportunity to see how professors try to help students and I got to see the hard work and responsibility that it is to be a nursing student. My duties as intern were to answer students question about the nursing program, setting up laboratory equipment, and interacting and helping professors Shadowing physician Shadowing Dr. George showed how that the work of a doctor is never done, but the satisfaction of helping others overpassed any work.
The American preservationist movement is arguably the oldest and longest running movement in America. Although wilderness was the bane to the existence of early settlers, it quickly became an important cornerstone of American culture, even as its vast expanses began to dwindle and become unreachable to every day Americans. American was carved by hand by hard working frontiersmen out of rough cut untouched forest making wilderness the foundation of American culture. Though historically, the only natural things man had a tolerance for were those that served his needs, good lumber, tame animals with meat milk or wool, and soil easy to plow. But through a drastic shift in public view in around the turn of the 19th century, suddenly America broke thousands of years of western cultural precedent when it declared that untouched wilderness deserved to be preserved and protected.
In my first semester, I served as the Intern for the Mayor’s Chief of Staff in Green Bay. I assisted in the day to day work of the Mayor and his Chief of staff. I took advantage of my role to make the city of Green Bay a better place to live. This semester, I am currently an intern in the Economic Development Department for the City of Green Bay. I get to work with GIS programs and businesses in the community.
Zoos and can be places where the imagination and creativity of people, especially children, can come alive and inspire them to tread avenues that they never expected they would take. In the early years of my childhood, I spent many hours observing and studying wild animal exhibits in zoos in Seattle Washington. I would imagine myself in my dream world as zoo keeper or a veterinarian helping animals and knowing them each by name. As I studied and let my imagination run free; I knew that someday, somehow, I would be involved in the care of animals. Without the establishment of zoos and, I would have never realized my dreams and perused a career in biology and animal care.

I am pursing a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about education and excited to share the joy of learning with students. The perspective of wonder and sense of excitement that children bring into education motivates me daily. Teaching can leave a lasting impression in a child’s life and offers a special opportunity to shape the bright young minds of future generations. While many professions can be impactful, I believe the qualities of the person in the career position to be the most influential.
Imagine you live in a world where there are no plants, forest, animals, or oceans all there is in where these things us to be is concrete, landfills of garbage, and buildings. This is what will transpire if we do not protect or wildlife, wildlife conservation is a very important situation as it helps keeps plants and animals off the endangered list. According to the World Wild Life organization there are twenty-six endangered animals and twenty-one critically endangered animals this is very overwhelming as animals are an important part of our environment and ecosystem. With human population increasing at an alarming rate, with the growing rate of humans there is going to be less land for animals and plants, more man-made pollution and plastic debris will go into the oceans, lakes, and streams.
When asked what they want to be when they grow up, most children say astronaut, doctor, president, or veterinarian. I was one of those kids that replied “a veterinarian” when asked by others. Usually, when one gets older, that career goal changes into something different, but not for me. I did not know it then, but my dream of being a veterinarian would stick with me throughout my life, and influence the choices I make in order to reach that long-term goal. I come from a family that expresses an interminable love for animals.
My internship was with the Boys and Girls Club LeBron James Clubhouse. I worked with students from the Akron area that were in less than ideal home situations and I saw a huge need for a positive role model in their life that was dedicated to working towards helping them succeed and advocating for them and their needs. It was after my experiences at the Boys and Girls Club that I decided my next step would be to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become a school
Zoos play a role in educating people about animals and play an important part in animal conservation. While much information on animals is available through printed materials and the Internet, it's way much better being near them seeing what they actually are. Many people lack the means to travel to the native habitats of most animals, however, zoos bring animals from many different climates and locations together in one place. For many people as well, the experience of being close to these animals has more impact than simply reading about them. This experience often gives them sympathy for animals that they may
