The Constitution was believed to be a conservative document. The Constitution will be one of the reasons why radical changes take place and will take huge shifts politically to a large extent. The Constitution took power away from the state and gave it to the federal state. This was something Hamilton believed in because he wanted a large and strong government and weak federal state. The Federalists believed in the Federalist paper which was written by James Madison and Alexander Hamilton and John Jay.
Moral conservatism believes that people have natural tendencies to behave in an antisocial way, so it is up to the state to provide religious training and traditional practices to maintain the social well-being. The majority of people who live in Mott Haven are broken families, because of all the issues. Which means that if poor families were to be relocated, they may end up as a broken family. Moral conservatism would be against the relocations because of this reason they do not want the family to be broken up and would try to prevent it from falling apart. In the article, there is a section talks about how women within the community become infuriated with the phrase broken family structure.

To a major extent, the political ideology of the Jeffersonian Republican party resembled that of the Anti-Federalists in the debates that occurred during the ratification of the US Constitution. Anti-Federalists and the Jeffersonian Republican party favored the people more than the elites that the Federalists and Hamiltonian Federalists party favored. The main ideology in the Anti Federalists and Jeffersonian party were to have the power and say in government be more in the people’s hands rather than having it to select few elites. The Anti-Federalists and the Jeffersonian party believed in preserving individual liberties, which can be shown during the ratification of the constitution and how the Bill of Rights made it into the constitution.

The French Revolution appropriately acquired the name of the “Reign of Terror” for its huge amount of undeserving deaths. During this time, peasants and other members of the third estate revolted against the monarchy and the social structure of France. The people who were alleged to be against this revolution would be directed to the guillotine. The guillotine was a device used to decapitate one's head.

While reading the chapter 1 of the Conscience of a Conservative, I found many of Goldwater’s views to make perfect sense, and also the problems in the political arena are the same. Which can only mean we haven't come a long way since the 1960s some of the logics that Goldwater uses we can sure use. Goldwater starts the chapter by saying that Conservatism is not an economic theory, but it has some economic implications. He arguing that conservatism is not a mechanistic economic only philosophy and it is a fact comprehensive in range and application and should never be apologized for and modified with labels like ‘progressive conservative’. He believes that socialism superiors put the people’s well being first.

During the Eighteenth Century, France had an absolute monarchy with Louis XVI as king and Marie Antoinette as queen. In that time period, French society was based upon a system of Estates where the clergy made up the First Estate; the nobility comprised the Second Estate, and everyone else including professionals, peasants, and the bourgeoisie made up the Third Estate. The Third Estate was immensely unhappy with the old regime, the Estates General, and Louis XVI’s leadership. France was also in the midst of a fiscal crisis due to the American Revolution, Louis XVI’s lavish lifestyle, the Seven Years War, and the tax exemption of the First and Second Estate. Following the surge of new ideas and impactful philosophers from the Enlightenment,
Was the French Revolution preventable? This is a question that is fascinating to think about. What could have been done differently to prevent this revolution that cost countless people their lives? Why were others willing to give their lives, for what cause? Why was life so turbulent?

Conservatism was an ideology in which people had ideas and beliefs to preserve the current order. Conservatives believed in tradition over reason and in the hierarchy of birth rather than liberals, who believed in the hierarchy of merit. Conservatives believed in security and stability as well. One of their great leaders, Otto von Bismarck, created social programs, health programs, and guaranteed retirement programs for society. Conservatives believed that being loyal to the state will insure that you will be protected by the state.
Opening paragraph The French Revolution was a major failure and a minor success. After all of the blood shed, the laws, civil rights, and codes did not get instituted effectively and did not represent the values that the citizens had fought for. Examples of this were the Napoleonic Code and Declaration of Rights of Man. Another reason it was a failure was because during the revolts and reforms more than 40,000 men and women died.
A Conservative Jew believes that the teaching and commandments of God should be followed, but more loosely than the Orthodox Jew. That is, they believe that while the laws should be followed, they are also subject to both change and evolution as years pass. While Conservative Jews still keep the Sabbath, and keep their food kosher, they have changed some of the older Jewish laws. As some of the stricter laws have been changed, this group is often seen as a “middle ground” of sorts, leaving Orthodox towards one end of the spectrum and Reconstructionists and Reformers towards the other. Conservative rabbis, like Orthodox, will not take part in intermarriage, but accept Conversion by any rabbi, so long as the person has truly been converted.
