Cook Inlet Case Study

101 Words1 Pages
The geography of Cook Inlet consists of active volcanoes. The volcanoes are active because of an oceanic plate subducting under a continental plate. Cook Inlet is known for its earthquakes and tsunamis. The danger of these naturally occurring incidences are very high. In my home, I would prefer it to be placed on higher ground with a firm foundation to last a tsunami. I would need it to be built with flexible materials to resist the shaking of earthquakes. I would need to be placed somewhere I can easily retreat to higher ground in case of an extreme earthquake and tsunami.
