Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is the main character in Storm front, which is the first book in a series of fifteen books: The Dresden Files. Harry is a wizard in modern day Chicago. Not the kind of wizard you see at a magic show, using tricks to make it look like magic, but a real wizard, actually using magic. Magic has a side effect, it messes with electronic devices and complicated machines. You can find him in the yellow pages, under “wizards”, and he is the only one in that category. His ad looks like this: HARRY DRESDEN – WIZARD Lost Items Found. Paranormal Investigations. Consulting. Advice. Reasonable Rates. No Love Potions, Endless Purses, Parties, or Other Entertainment Harry is Chicago’s first and only wizard private investigator. He works for the police when magic is involved in the crime. In this book, two people’s hearts were literally ripped out with black magic. As if this wasn’t enough, Harry has to solve a crime working within the laws of magic. He only found himself in a worse and worse situation, threatening his life.1 The police started to think that it could maybe be Harry. The police were the closest Harry could come to calling friends. He got beaten in the back of the head with a baseball bat, as a warning from the killer to stop investigating. That night, he was attacked by a big angry daemon. Another person got their heart ripped out that night. That person was supposed to visit Harry that night, but did not make it that far. The White Council decided to come to Chicago to judge if Harry was guilty. That meant that Harry had to find solid evidence in time, to prove himself innocent, and at the same time stop the killer.
