Pastor Dennis McConnaughhay provided a sermon on how to wear the armor of God at Post Road Christian church on November 15, 2015. As with every church, the special occasion was held on Sunday and lasted thirty minutes with the desired response to persuade the audience to believe that the Lord exists, He loves you, and that you should be baptized to receive eternal life.
His desired response and purpose was very clear to see as he used a lot of leading questions (questions that suggest the answer you want) such as, “Wouldn’t you like to wear the armor of God rather than wallowing in sin?”. As well emphasizing through repetition that we are in a battle with the Devil and it is through the blood of Jesus that we can be saved. Yet, although the purpose is rather generic to the church setting, his question of value (evaluation of something’s worth, significance, quality, or condition) was presented in such a way that although it does push for internal change/change in behavior, it sounds optional and not forced upon us.

Dennis also provided a preview of the main points (which tells the audience what the main points of the speech will be) by stating, “Today we will be discussing how we don the shield of faith, the breastplate of righteousness, the sword of truth, and the sandals of peace.” To the audience members, it was a strong introduction that immersed the people listening with the adrenaline of one going into
