Count Of Monte Cristo, Not Guilty
In the book, The Count of Monte Cristo written by Alexandre Dumas has many minor and major characters. Major characters are more involved in the story while minor character are less involved in the story. The major character that I am going to be talking about is Noirtier. The minor character that I will be describing is Edouard de Villefort.
We first hear Noritier’s name as it is on a letter that Edmond was instructed to have. At the Start, we find out that a letter was addressed to Noirtier from Neapolion: “ 'Whose name and address are on the letter? ' 'Noirtier, Heron Road, Paris. ‘Villefort 's face went white, and he looked afraid. 'Noirtier! ' he said in a weak voice. 'Noirtier!’” (10).
Villefort was surprised by this because his father is Noirtier. However,

The murder plans were foiled but the protection over his granddaughter is a success.
My minor Character is Edouard de Villefort the son of Villefort and grandson of Noirtier. He is only 9 years old. When Noirtier is deciding what to do with his money, Madame de Villefort asks, “‘Is it to your grandson Edouard that you leave your fortune, then?’ His eyes blinked in a terrible way; they almost expressed hatred…‘No”’ (250).
Madame de Villefort wants Edouard to inherit a large amount of money but you can tell that Noirtier does not want the money to go to him.
If Noirtier had just written that the money would go to Edouard than a whole situation could have been prevented.
Madame Villefort wanted the money to be inherited by her son so that is when she started to try and kill off Noirtier and Valentine because then she though the money would go to Edouard.
Madame Villefort wanted the money to be inherited by her son so that she can be a part of the fortune. With this though, Madame Villefort got greedy and started to try and kill people off so her son could get the
