The structure of AGMIHTF by Flannery O'Connor is interesting and is a good place to start the discussion. It is divided into two different parts. The boundary between the first and second part is when the group has their accident. As this is the moment when the trip suddenly becomes extremely unpleasant, it is a significant event that creates a sharp difference in the tone and the mood of the story. In both of these texts, including the poem of Paul Revere by Longfellow and the letter by Belknap based on Paul Revere are very different from each other, for one I know that the poem about Paul Revere is indeed a tale and the letter is surely the truth. We can differentiate these two stories and find out what differences and similarities are there by using context clues and exemplars. In the poem by Longfellow, explains not as many details as the letter, for one in the poem, it is said that he went through Charleston first, then many other villages to warn the people of the town that the British were coming by sea. On the night of Paul Revere, Longfellow's poem states that Paul Revere and his friend planned out that Paul Revere would stand on the opposite side of Charleston river prepared with his horse to tell everybody that the British were coming but he would not go until his friend would put letters on the church wall “ 1 later if by land and 2 lanterns if by sea”
The main idea of this entry is about the stereotypes that come along with racism. The case of Emmett Till was one that shook the nation to the core. His murder forced the American people to finally come face-to-face with one of their biggest problems: racism. Emmett Till, a fourteen year old black boy from Chicago, was killed on the account of Carolyn Bryant, the white woman who accused Till of assaulting her in 1955. A little over sixty years after her incriminating word, Bryant came forward in a recent book, “The Blood of Emmett Till,” and confessed to lying about her original accounts. In the article Black Lives, White Lies and Emmett Till, the author uses background information on the case and relies on American history to inform the reader on the injustice that was caused by one lie.
In literature and in life, misunderstandings create a divide in society. In “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls, the Walls live a reckless lifestyle and frequently move around the country, as a result of their denial towards society. “Poetry” by Marianne Moore describes Moore’s complicated relationship poetry because it is often not true, raw emotion. “The Glass Castle” and “Poetry” are representative of the constant battle between self and society.
The author presents the readers with different experiences of what occurs in her everyday life. Each example contains racist actions although not drastic it’s subtle enough to be detected by people of color that might be oblivious to white people. These daily racists actions whether intentional or not are micro aggressions meaning that they are instances of racism that are communicated to people of color on a daily basis. The term micro aggression is linked with the text since each piece of text is an example of it that the author, Rankine, has experienced through and multiple people go through.
Being resilient in tough situations can be substantial in some cases. To be resilient means one has great wit, especially in a 'finding a way out ' scenario. It can even be the key to survival, as can be shown in a short excerpt from Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand. Racial tension has been a hot topic in our country for a long time. No matter what laws and regulations are passed, there will still always be racial tensions and cruel people. In the short story “Brownies” by ZZ Packer, a young group of black girls are at a scout camp with other young, white girls. After being called the N word by a the group of white girls, the young black girls believe they are being discriminated against. Throughout the story, Packer depicts the very real problem of racial discrimination in young kids, just as in older adults.

This fictional short story had a powerful meaning because it focused on how racial stereotyping can cause a lot of problems even among young girls who were attending a Girl Scouts camp. “Brownies” also showed how stereotyping can actually be harmful and can sometimes lead to hurtful consequences for the person who is the victim of it and for the person is guilty of stereotyping someone. I decided to do my analysis of this short story using the historical context element because of the long history of problems between the Black and White races in this country according to our history books, including one terrible incident that just happened one week ago when nine innocent Black people were murdered in a church in Charleston South Carolina by a 21 year old White racist who was guilty of stereotyping and hating Black people. The killer accused Black men of raping White women and that Black people were taking over the whole country. These were stereotypes that he first thought about in his head that then led to his terrible actions.

"After Us" is talking about the human race, either at the beginning or end of its existence. It talks about a perfect world, one that has grown and flourished, but it starts to rain.
