Being lonely most of the time, which made her to started writing. Mary excelled in school and had made lasting friendships with
She became a best friend to me. Having the book in her perspective was interesting. Her thoughts and feelings often sounded like things I would think, or even say at times.
Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson is one of the best books I have ever read, and I would definitely give it a five out of five rating. Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride (Max) is not your ordinary teenage girl, the girl can fly. Max and her winged “flock” are the results of experiments at a secret lab called “The School” to inject avian genes into human infants. The flock includes Fang (a dark-haired boy only 4 months younger than Max), Iggy (another 14-year-old who is blind due to an experiment gone wrong)
Sometimes events in your life can be difficult and frustrating but once someone of something helps you, you feel so much better. I think this book is such a moving story
1. The Sky Is Falling By Kit Pearson is a novel about a ten year old british girl named Norah Stoakes who is part of a group called the skywatchers with her friends who look out for german planes. Norah likes being in the “front lines” and she enjoys being in the group very much. One day everything is changed when her parents send her and her little brother Gavin to Canada for safety. In my opinion this is one of the climaxes of the story.
Character Analysis A mystery that is so deep and so complex, that the ones who were involved would do anything to keep it covered up, even kill two reporters and many runaway girls. In the novel Deadly Sanctuary, by Sylvia Nobel a reporter, Kendall O’Dell is taken into a complex conspiracy that could cost her, her life. In Castle Valley, Arizona a reporter went missing after the discovery of two dead teenage girls. This reporter, John Dexter, was always trying to cause trouble, and only wrote about topics that would get someone into trouble.
I made the mistake of reading the first Little House on the Prairie book once again after finishing the series. It was just so hard to believe that the distinguished Laura Ingalls Wilder was once a naughty five-year-old, always secondary to her flawless older sister. This transformation made me realize that in reality or literature, characters change as they grow. Their change depends on the events taking place in the book, which explains how and why Laura Ingalls rose up to be the head of the family when her older sister was unable to do so. Many literary works portray growth or refinement of certain characters; physically, mentally, or emotionally.
During the middle of the story she began to have a change of heart. She started to hang out with her aunt more and realized it takes a lot of effort. During this time of self discovery she noticed small details about her friends and family. But by the end of the book she starts to see things from others views to give her insight to how others might see things.
She realized that she was stubborn and gave undeserved loyalty to her husband. I believe that all the characters (mother, sister, lover and others) had a huge impact on that transformation, but the person who had the most impact was Derrick. She was expecting him to work, study, and keep his head down thus he could leave prison early and be back with her. One instance that proved to her she was being fooled by Derrick was when she noticed the scare on his neck, and she asked him what it was then he replied that it was a street thing.
How would you feel if you were in a horrible never ending nightmare concentration camp where people are dying all around you and you are forced to do hard labour? In the book I Have Lived A Thousand Years by Livia Bitton-Jackson that’s mostly what this book is about. Elli the main character who is a 13 year-old girl who in the book is in a concentration camp in Auschwitz called Plaszow with her family and is in a desperate attempt to survive. All throughout the book Elli and her family go through a series of tragic events that test her strength and perseverance. This book is a perfect example of the theme finding light in the darkness.
While reading the story, you can tell in the narrators’ tone that she feels rejected and excluded. She is not happy and I’m sure, just like her family, she wonders “why her?” She is rejected and never accepted for who she really is. She is different. She’s not like anyone else
Counting by Sevens by Holly Sloan and, it is about a girl who loses her parents in a car accident and she needs a home and somebody to live with and care for her. Willow has three characteristics different from me. She is a person without there original parents, ? brave, and earthy. These are a couple of ways to describe her.
It taught me that strength and perseverance can make a significant impact in life. I also learned that forgiveness and the ability to forgive is much more powerful than I ever realized. This novel sucked me into the story and its characters and took me on an emotional ride of highs and lows. Finally, it forced me to reevaluate my previous judgement of the homeless.
In the novel Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan, the author places high importance on the number seven, and uses it as a symbol. The main character, Willow Chance, was obsessed with the number seven in the beginning of the story. She thought of everything in sevens and one of the most comforting things for her to do was count by sevens. This is symbolic because it was as if her life was perfect and complete. Willow had a good life, spending time with her parents, researching medical conditions, planting in her garden…
After all the quotes, there is also a second half of this book called a “Friendship Book”. In this book, you write your thoughts, favourite quotes and compliments to your friends, or even problems/things you want to talk to them about. You pass this book from one friend to another each day; and they write what they wish. I included this because sometimes you’re too nervous to talk to a friend about what is bothering you and so instead you could write it to them so they too understand. This could also be used to cheer you up if you are written compliments or photos are pasted into
