One of the Similarities is that they both involve tricking and authoritative figure figure. Both the king and the thunder god have authority over the trickster. In both stories the tricksters get what they want from the god/king. In both "Coyote Steals Fire" and "Master Cat" the tricksters both lie and cheat to get what they want. Coyote cheats the thunder god into giving away fire, master cat tricks the king into giving away his daughter’s hand in marriage.
The two trickster tales, coyote steal fire and how stories came to earth are so similar. The trickster Anansi and Coyote are extreme smart and cunning otherwise they wouldn 't have been successful in their plans. When the stories are reviewed and looked at their traits
Coyote wanted fire for everyone on earth and he got it. The second similarity is they both had
Gonzales is comparing himself both to the sword that Cortés is known for fighting and killing indigenous people with, and to the fire that he is known for burning down his own ships in an attempt to motivate his men to keep fighting, conquering, and claiming current day Mexico for Spain. The second part of this extended metaphor is more simply put. In nature, eagles prey on serpents, so by comparing himself to these animals, Gonzales states that he has been both the predator and the prey. The last part of this extended metaphor is also more cut and dry, but it is also much more literal. While a man can not physically be an eagle and a snake, he can however be a slave and a tyrant.
First, I will explain how the legends are similar. In both stories, the rodent bribes the cat with fish. Also, in both stories, they cross a wide river. Lastly, in both stories, the rat did something that negatively affected the cat.
The first similarity is that there is almost no touch of humanity where these two stories take place. In A Sound of Thunder it stated, “He indicated a metal path that struck off into green wilderness…” The only man made thing in this time period, the rest is left alone. In Being Prey it says, “In the wet season, Kakadu’s paperbark wetlands are especially stunning.” This Kakadu place is a national park almost untouched by humanity.
Some of the similarities of these stories is they all include magic and animals in the three stories The buffalo and the corn,The first false face and The Coyote are that they all have a magic and in The buffalo and the corn there is the magic buffalo god and that's not true but depends on your religious belief and in The coyote the animals can talk and in reality they can't talk at all. In The first false face their is no such thing as magical medicine when you can touch someone and heal them in an instant. The difference of the three stories is the first false face had been different because of how the medicine god had used his power for medicine and to do good but as the other story The coyote the coyote was being very greedy to the fox because he wanted to eat only him when there was many of animals in the forest to eat but he wanted to eat the fox and he was being very greedy. In the buffalo and the corn they worship a god and this god had been a buffalo
The difference between animal fantasy and anthropomorphism is that animal fantasy can be called the ‘main title’ while anthropomorphism can be called the ‘subtitle’ or a ‘theme’ of the animal fantasy. In animal fantasies, animals have human traits and either all or some of the animals are anthropomorphic ones. They can either talk, have emotions which they can express like humans, or are able to reason, ask questions and have their opinions just like humans. It is also possible that these fantasy stories incorporate all these traits in the animals. There are four types of animal fantasies: 1) Anthropomorphic
One of the more obvious similarities is that both tricksters in both stories are animals. Another similarity in these stories is they both share anthropomorphism. Anthropomorphism is giving animals
Many differences and similarities arise in each of these stories including their beliefs differing in the way humans were created, while the attitudes base
The fictional book Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, is about Mr. Jones’ farm of animals who rebel against him and make their own society. Although equal at first, the pigs slowly create a peerless government due to the malleable minds of the rest of the animals. I the end, the pigs have broken all of their originally set commandments and begin to act as humans at the dismay of all of the other previously equal animals. Three topics addressed in this amazing book are anthropomorphism, foreshadowing, and motif. To start, the first topic, anthropomorphism, is used the entire book, as the animals are the main characters.
The poems “A Blessing” and “Predators” can be the same or different because both have different animals but they act differently. In the poems “A Blessing” and “Predators” there will be comparing and contrasting in both poems, “A Blessing” and “Predators” Both poems “A Blessing” and “Predators” they both have tamed animals in both poems because the horses are tamed in “Blessing” and they are surrounded by fences/barbed wire so, they can’t get out on page 139 and paragraph 5 it says “We step over the barbed wire into the pasture” and on “Predators” they have cats and dogs who are tamed too. They are both different because in the poem “A Blessing” has peaceful and calm animals and the horses peaceful because they nuzzled on a person’s hand on
Both stories have the same author’s style, setting and animals as characters, and a human and animal connection. But, the stories are different because of the poetic structure, tame or wild animals, and simple of sophisticated diction. First, the author’s style is similar in “Predators” and “A Blessing”. Both of the poems have sound devices. For example, in “A Blessing” the author repeats the word “they” several times at the beginning of each line, “they ripple tensely, they can hardly contain their happiness” and “they bow shyly as wet swans.
The role of animals in story telling forms a bond between the viewers and character that can be stronger than the human cast. Animals not only gave information but also portray their personality in a given narrative. Sometimes they are wearing a cover of characteristics which is not directly related to their natural portrayal but still manages to effect human animal relationship i.e Anthropomorphism. Anthropomorphism is an interpretation of what is not human or personal in terms of human or personal characteristics (Merriam Webster). The showing or treating of animals, gods or objects as if they are human in appearance, character or behaviour.
Animal Farm by George Orwell is a story about animals that rebel against their owners on a farm. They then try to solve problems on how to run a farm. One theme in this story is ”Not everyone is equal; some people believe that they are more superior than others.” This theme is demonstrated by Napoleon, he’s a dictator and makes all the rules in the farm to fit his needs. Another theme in this story is “People deserve to have their own thoughts and ideas.
