The struggles of everyday issues can cause human error in ways that make us loose a sense of touch with other individuals. The choices we make no matter how insignificant can have devastating chain effects on ourselves and others around us. The film titled Crash identifies various situations in which people lose a sense of understanding for others. The literal reason for the title simply means to collide violently with an obstacle or another vehicle as shown with the opening scene of a car accident. Metaphorical reasons behind the title would be that everyone in the film has their lives “Crashing” down around them in an emotional or physically abusive state.

There were several redeeming characters within the film that overall became better human beings after fixing their flaws. Sgt. John Ryan redeemed himself after saving Christine Thayer from a car accident post sexually assaulting her during a traffic stop. Christine Thayer is also a redeeming character as she succumbs to allowing Sgt. John Ryan, the officer who sexually assaults her to rescue her from the car crash, realizing that she will die if he dosent free her from being trapped in the wreck. Jean Cabot redeemed herself after suffering a fall in her home, only to them realize that the only one that came to her rescue was her housekeeper whom she treated badly prior to her accident. She also realized that she has an anger problem after waking up everyday mad at the world and taking it out on everyone else in her vicinity. The last redeeming character recognized in the film was Farhad, whom out of a final solution to avenge his store after it destruction ends up shooting a blank bullet at the repairmans daughter. In the end he thinks the little girl was his angel sent down to ensure he does no wrong and to protect him from
