It was said that Hurst stabbed and slashed Cynthia Harrison at least sixty times, on top of extremely deep cuts penetrating down to her bones. While the murder was being committed, Hurst robbed the Popeye’s location it was being committed in, which happened to be the location where he worked. Hurst ended up being convicted of first-degree murder, but the case turned into a penalty phase trial to figure out which sentence would best suit Hurst’s crime. After the penalty phase, the jury came back with an eleven to one vote and suggested Hurst be put to a death sentence.

The Tylenol Murders In 1982, seven innocent Chicago civilians were boldly murdered. In late September of 1982 seven people were killed after an unknown suspect placed cyanide laced Tylenol pills in store bottles. Two main suspects in this unsolved case are James Lewis and Roger Arnold, who had both been linked to this occurrence in some way. The mystery behind the Tylenol murders can be summed up in two theories: Roger Arnold took bottles from the Tylenol distributor that he worked for, poisoned them and placed them on store shelves or James Lewis bought/stole the bottles, poisoned them and placed them on 6 different store shelves.
Christopher Simmons at age 17 (1993) purposed a plan to murder Shirley Crook. To do so, he brought two other younger friends (Tessmer and Benjamin) into the murder plan to help him. The plan was to commit burglary and murder by breaking and entering, tying up the victim, and throwing her off a bridge to her death. He told both his friends that they would “get away with it” because they were minors. The three met up in the middle of the night to complete the plan; however Tessmer dropped out leaving Benjamin and Simmons, and the two still went through with the crime.

Hi, I’m Haley Fox, a detective for the “Virginia State Police Department.” Recently, it has been brought to my attention that a man, whom we do not know the name of, is going on a rampage, killing innocent people in their sleep. I’ve done some various research on this man, based on what we do know, which includes digging up some of his records here with the police department. Strangely enough, we’ve noticed that this isn’t the first time that this man has killed someone. This unexplained killing, and the reason behind the killing, has led us to believe that maybe this man is crazy.

Murder, as defined by PC:187 of the California Penal Code, is the unlawful killing of a human being, or a fetus, with malice aforethought. On June 13th, 1994, a passerby found Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown dead outside of her condominium in Brentwood California. Immediately, police went to go question ex-husband Orenthal James (O.J.) Simpson. After a long winded and in-depth investigation in which all evidence pointed towards Mr.Simpson as the perpetrator, O.J was found not guilty for two cases of murder in the first degree. One of the most controversial aspects of the case, aside from the celebrity status of the lead suspect, is the large amount of evidence and how it was poorly and improperly handled.
The murder of JonBenet Ramsey is a crime that received national attention and was seen on nightly news stations and talk shows across the country. All of this attention made the case extremely controversial (Saferstein, 2015). It is now over twenty years since the murder occurred and the case still remains unsolved. The development of DNA evidence has played a critical role in the course of this arduous investigation (Saferstein, 2015). Crucial mistakes were made from the very start of the investigation by police and then by the district attorney, Mary Lacy (Saferstein, 2015).
The life and murder of Jessica Lunsford, was a very senseless crime that never should have happened in the first place. Her mom and separated and cannot get alone even if they tried too. Now have to mourn the death of their beloved daughter Jessica, because of a man who nothing else better to do but prey on young kids and can’t keep his hands to himself.
On October 20, 2014, LaQuan Mcdonald was shot 16 times by law enforcement after being seen holding a knife. Although he was carrying a knife, video evidence showed that McDonald was in no way posing a threat to the responding officers. After the murder, the McDonald family revealed that LaQuan suffered from PTSD and complex mental health problems. However, there is no education for police officers on how to respond to people with disabilities or injuries. I am not justifying the murder of LaQuan McDonald, but I am trying to justify why defunding the police will only hurt our society more with the few requirements needed to become an officer.
Through examination of all evidence that pertains to this case, investigators were able to narrow down, and eventually identify the suspect in the murder of Gaven Brooks. Through the analysis of not only fingerprints, saliva swabs, and hair follicles, it can easily be seen who the real perpetrator was. Also, through interviews with close friends and relatives, it was revealed that Peggy could not have been a potential suspect because of her allergy to grapes (could not have drank the wine found at the crime scene), Lauren could not have been a potential suspect because her shoe size was too big to fit the size five shoeprint that was found at the scene. Janice did not know how to drive, which means that it couldn’t have been her because the car was moved from the scene of the crime to an abandoned parking lot over twenty miles away.
Thomas Harris once said “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.” There are so many bad things in the world but according to many, cannibalism is considered just about the worst. Depending on your point of view, it rises above even such criminal abominations as, rape and genocide. Jeffrey Dahmer, serial killer and sex offender, murdered 17 males between 1978 and 1991. July 22, 1991 was the day Dahmer's killing spree came to an end.
