The Invisible Man was killed to maintain a social community (Josephine 154). People could not continue their normal lives because of Griffin he was too much of a threat to them. The only option they had was to kill Griffin, he was powerful and he knew he had an advantage over everyone that he could use, almost forcing people to hate him. By the end of the story, all of Griffin’s rights have been stripped away and the government has waged war against him (Cantor 97). Griffin’s invisibility made him very powerful compared to the average person, and his desire for more power, made people fear him, he needed to be stopped. If Griffin had not trusted Kemp and told him his weaknesses, the government would have had a much harder time catching Griffin.
