The Lonely Piglet by Ferarri Landau Once upon a time, there were five little piglets. Four of these piglets were pink with shiny coats, but the fifth piglet was a little different. He was black with pink spots and always playing in the mud. One day the four pink pigs were playing a game of tag. The black and pink piglet, Spot, walked up and asked to play. The four clean pigs, Rebecca, Pinky, Billy, and Joey, said “Go away, you cannot play with us. You will get us dirty.” Spot walked away sadly, trying not to cry. He looked up just in time to move out of the way of three cows playing toss the apple. The little pig asked to play, but the cows thought he was too small. Upset, Spot kept walking until he met a sheep. This sheep was white with a soft, clean coat. Spot asked to play, but the sheep looked at his muddy coat and said, “No, I will not play with you, you will ruin my beautiful coat.” Spot was so upset, he had asked others to play three times, …show more content…

Spot walked farther than he had ever walked before. He walked past the big, green field, the chicken coop, and the pigpen. Tired, Spot laid down to rest in the stables. Here, he met a horse, who was teaching her foal to walk. Spot asked the foal “Do you want to play?” He smiled and said, “Yes, I would love to play.” The two played most of the afternoon, and Spot walked home happily. Over dinner, Spot told his family about how lonely he had felt when nobody wanted to play with him and how he had made a wonderful friend. His siblings apologized for their rude behavior and asked to join Spot on his next visit to Jimmy the foal. Spot agreed happily, saying, “Yes, of course you may.” The next morning, the five piglets walked to Jimmy the foal’s barn, whispering excitedly. Spot, Rebecca, Pinky, Billy and Joey played with Jimmy all day, teaching him how to roll in the dirt, how to play tag, and so much more. In return, Jimmy gave the piglets a tour of the stable.
