Critical Thinking 14 1. Why do you think so many employers search for information about job applicants online using Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other online tools? Do you think these kinds of searches are ethical or appropriate? Isn't this similar to snooping? I believe so many employers search for data about job applicants online using Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other online tools because to tell what sort of person the applicant is and how the applicants thinks and our feelings. Yes and no I think these searches are ethical and appropriate because so many applicants lie on their job application and simply are just untrustworthy. I also believe in the First Amendment of the Constitution, which the freedom of speech and this shouldn’t be held against you. Yes, it is similar to snooping, but you can keep your profile private and just be aware of what you are posting, sharing, and no negative feedback about your job and fellow employees. What can you do to appear professional when a potential employer contacts you by phone for a screening interview or to schedule a job interview? You can appear professional by saying hello and stating your name. You can own a professional voicemail with no ring back tone and stating again your name and how sorry you missed the call. You can also state that you will return the call promptly. Using your manners please and thank you go a long way. 3.
