The article, Each Other’s Mirror by Jeanne Marie Laskas, surrounds the lives of two identical twin sisters, who live in complete synchronization of one another. I enjoyed reading this article since it captures an open-mind perspective on this identical sisters, Isobel and Elizabeth. It is interesting to see how these sisters appreciate their connectedness and enjoy their similarities rather than their differences. For example, on page 161, “Isobel: ‘Just like anybody else. We are just like anybody else.’ In unison: ‘Except there is two.’” It allowed me to take a different perspective of this profile since my initial thoughts of this profile was that I wasn’t going to like the article because of the unusualness of these twins, but I was wrong. …show more content…

They are talking about their birthplace, and later talk about the painting that each of them did about their birthplace, Truth and Trust. The scene ends with both Betty and Isobel agreeing how close and in synch one another are. Also, this scene illustrates the characters of Betty and Isobel as inseparable twins. “The two identical couples live next door to one another, in identical houses, connected porch-to-porch by a well-trod path” (160). This statement in the first scene illustrates how both twins have a lot of similarities to the point where they have identical twin husbands. Throughout the article, it profiles how close knit the twins are and how it is different from their husbands and many other identical twins. “Marty and Mackall do not dress alike…they are not what you would call enthusiastic about the idea of being identical twins”
