Paul's writings have been interpreted into different ways,there are two viewpoints that people still struggle to understand, that if Paul is a friend or enemy of women. Cultural Context Greeks and Romans lived in a Patriarchal society,assigning women to minor and subordinate roles.The father of the family was the head of the household.Women were the property of there husbands with no rights,no role in society except for childbearing.Women achieved some social status,becoming the mother of her son.Men were so superior over their family that women were to be silenced in order to respect her superior husband.Mens status was all about power in the Patriarchal society.Women struggled with their social status because the rules were already set out
