Venezuela and United States “To survive in peace and harmony, united and strong, we must have one people, one nation, one flag.’’ This quotation of Pauline Hanson defines how important values are, not just for one person or one community, but for a whole nation. On one hand, we have Venezuelan people, and on the other hand American people. Even though these two countries have similarities in the weather and food, there are three major differences between Venezuela and United States.
There is a rich diverseness of cultural and ethnic and racial backgrounds within Pima County. The Tohono O’odham Native American tribe, the refugee population, the Hispanics and Latinos among other groups all reflect the essence of this culture specific to Pima County, while also defining and contributing to the health statuses throughout the area. Within the borders of this county, one will find a varying number of races as can be seen in Table 7. From this 2010 census seen in Table 7, 34.6 % of the population identifies as Hispanic or Latino while the other 65.4 % is of non-Hispanic or Latino descent.
America and Guatemala are very different cultures; sometimes these cultures can be viewed in a poor light or it can be viewed in an interesting light, but I think these differences are very interesting and nice. One big difference that can be seen is that America loves upgrading technology and making technology to make life easier. In Guatemala, it is not like that. Guatemala does have some technology like smart phones and new types of cars, but if something is fine how it is, it is not upgraded and not much technology is made that would supposedly make their lives easier.

After carefully reviewing the article entitled Latino definitions of success: A cultural model of intercultural competence. The interview wanted to get a better understanding of the skills necessary for the Latino culture to become successfully in the United States. In this paper I will discuss the culture of Hispanic Americans, whom are sometimes called Latinos. Five demographic characteristics will be identified, which will follow their beliefs on family, education, and society. Although this culture has seen many challenges in today’s society there are many opportunities for advantages, and new traditions. Culture awareness is an excellent way to engage in our students and families lives. As teachers, we will see a diverse group of races and ethics, while in the classroom.
Coming from a strong Hispanic culture food is everything. Most of my family grew up in Ecuador a small country in South America and like any other Hispanic culture you will see how much of it revolves around food. But more importantly I would like to focus on how food impacts the women; it is a strong belief that in order for a women to be able to find a husband first she must learn to cook. Growing up this is what was mostly heard in my home, “You want a boyfriend, but you don’t even know how to cook!” or “You will never find a husband cooking like that”, and although it was mostly said in a teasing manner the words ring with some truth.
During my two interviews my with my two people of the Hispanic culture I came to find they were both had a good level of health literacy from a quick glance. It’s interesting I came to this conclusion fast after asking them each their questions, because I barely know these two on a personal level. Raul I met last year at comicpalooza, where we bonded over love over television and movies and came in contact since, mostly having conversations about show/movies; but never had conversations on anything like this level. Francis I met over swim class this fall at UH recreation center, so I came to the conclusion to pick two people I didn’t really know to ask these questions for this paper.
In the 16th Century, Spain became one of the European forces to reckon with. To expand even further globally, Spanish conquistadors were sent abroad to discover lands, riches, and North America and its civilizations. When the Spanish and Native American groups met one another, they judged each other, as they were both unfamiliar with the people that stood before them. The Native American and Spanish views and opinions of one another are more similar than different because when meeting and getting to know each other, neither the Spaniards nor the Native Americans saw the other group of people as human. Both groups of people thought of one another as barbaric monsters and were confused and amazed by each other’s cultures.
Two Worlds, One Girl There are many different cultures around the world, but you never really know what is like being between two different cultures, until you are experiencing it yourself. While growing up, I had the privilege and misfortune of becoming familiar with two different cultures: my family’s culture, from their birth country, Guatemala, and the culture of the United States of America. I say misfortune not because it was a disaster, catastrophe, or bad luck; I say it because sometimes you get so used to being in one culture that you start to forget about your family’s origin. Sometimes you even like something in one culture better than the other, and you feel guilty for having a preference.
Culture refers to the common beliefs and behavior patterns of a group of people. In an organizational setup, it refers to the common values that the stakeholders of the organization share, and impact their decision-making process. According to Cristina De Rossi, “Culture encompasses religion, food, what we wear, how we wear it, our language, marriage, music, what we believe is right or wrong, how we sit at the table, how we greet visitors, how we behave with loved ones, and a million other things” (De Ross, 2015). Western culture refers to the cultures that are heavily influenced by European cultures, and has its roots from the Greco-Roman cultures as well as Christianity and spread through immigration to other parts of the world. Eastern culture is the culture of the Eastern Asian countries including China, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, and India (Zimmermann, 2017).
